Rules & Guidelines
Rules serve as a fair standard to ensure everyone has a good experience on LifeOnMC. Paid or free, everyone has to follow the rules equally.
Pre-note:
Have you been griefed or killed without consent?
Do not panic, we have advanced per-player rollback system and will be able to restore your inventory and build after the report has been solved. If the one that griefed you is unwilling to repair the damages or hand the items back to you, please create a ticket on our Discord to report the player.
Do you find someone annoying?
If they aren't breaking rules, but you don't want to read what they are saying, consider using "/ignore (player)". They will still be able to read your messages.
Having a bad day?
Everyone has a bad day once in a while, but that doesn't make it acceptable to ruin other peoples day. Additionally, if you need someone to talk to, you may reach out to the staff, we believe everyone deserves to be heard!
Social interactions:
Ensuring a friendly chat is very important to LifeOnMC, where we want everyone, no matter their age or differences to feel welcome. Below are examples of things you should avoid in chat, which modifications we allow, and other behavior guidelines. These rules apply to Minecraft, Discord, signs, books, holograms, renamed items, and letters that are built with blocks.
Disrespectful & Inappropriate Behavior:
Everyone at LifeOnMC deserves a drama-free and respectful time. Being passive aggressive or generally creating a negative atmosphere will be handed a warning, followed up by revoked chat privileges, or ban. Depending on the situation.
Inappropriate Language & Discussion:
Be respectful—refrain from using inappropriate language and avoid discussing controversial topics like politics, religion, sexual-orientation, and other sensitive subjects that may not be suitable for everyone.
These topics have no place in a Minecraft server due to the nature of children being around, and the general idea of people wanting to relax on the game, away from real life topics such as these. However, if you want to talk about these topics, you may do so in private messages if both people consent to the topic beforehand.
Failing to do so, can lead to punishment, depending on the situation, reports, and the content of your message(s).
Spamming:
Avoid spamming: do not repeat your messages unless a few minutes have passed if your question may have been missed. Also, avoid asking for countdowns or sharing song lyrics that could disrupt the chat.
Sharing Others' Information:
Be respectful and don't share secrets or make jokes about private things. This also means not trying to trick others into sharing their personal info. It's important to create a safe and trusting space for everyone.
Advertising & Promotion:
No advertising for other websites, servers, or things not related to LifeOnMC or Riftland. It's okay to promote LifeOnMC or RiftLand stuff, but remember to avoid spamming. Riftland is our other server (java only), which has a lot of custom content, resourcepack, crates, still non-p2w, quests, and more. Find out more by going to riftland.com.
Threats & Harm Encouragement:
Don't say things that might hurt or threaten others—even if you think it's a joke. Do not encourage others to hurt themselves in real life.
Game Behavior:
All users on LifeOnMC are held to an equal standard. Our aim is to provide an enjoyable experience for all players, and individuals who are found to deliberately ruin another person's enjoyment on the server will be punished accordingly.
Killing/Trapping/Attacking Players:
When you want to fight, trap, or overall kill players, you need consent.
This is a friendly server, with the allowance to PVP in order to keep the vanilla experience, and we understand it comes with risks due to bad actors. If you have been attacked, killed, or trapped without consent, please make a ticket on our Discord. We have an advanced rollback system so rest-assured your items will be restored guaranteed, even if the bad actor decides to throw the items in lava or any other destructive method.
Important note: You are always safe from players inside your claimed area.
Griefing & Trolling:
Having fun is important, but your fun might not be fun to others, remember that!
Don't mess with other peoples' build, areas, personal space, or private messages unless you have permission.
Stealing & Scamming:
Taking items from other players without permission is not allowed.
Exception: Unclaimed containers are allowed to be taken, so make sure to claim them.
Actively participating in sales or trades with the intent to withhold agreed-upon items is not allowed and will be met with consequences. In other words: Deals you make with other people need to be met, no fooling or scamming people.
Important note: If you are making a deal or trade with someone, do it on the server using /msg or public chat, in order for all the logs to be verified. This way, people will not be able to create fake screenshots.
Inappropriate Names, Skins, Items & Builds:
Inappropriate names: You will be asked by a staff member to change it. If you cannot change it until a certain date, you will be restricted from joining the server until that date. Inappropriate names are also against Mojang's terms of service which can get your Minecraft account banned.
Inappropriate skins: You will be asked by a staff member to change it, failing to do so will lead to a ban.
Inappropriate items: Renaming items to something that you wouldn't be able to say in the chat is not allowed.
Inappropriate builds: Building builds that include things such as (but not limited to): anti-semitism, racism, sexism, nudity, hateful, is prohibited. This will lead to a ban without warning, and a rollback of your builds.
Lying & Misleading:
When making a report, it is crucial you do not falsify proof or lie to the staff members. If you are found trying to get someone wrongly punished with false reports, will lead to a temporary or permanent suspension, and/or revoked reporting abilities or other punishments suitable for the situation. Falsifying proof is highly frowned upon and will be taken seriously.
Cheating & Exploiting:
This is a casual server, cheating is not needed. If you are found to be using disallowed modifications or exploits, you will be banned.
Modifications:
Using mods or scripts that gives unfair advantage is not allowed. Below is a list of allowed and disallowed mods.
Allowed:
Optifine, Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor, (Most FPS boosters).
Gameplay recorders and free-cam mod.
All cosmetic mods (Cosmetica, Essentials, Decorative mods).
All visual improvement mods such as Shaders, NearBlur, Particles, etc.
All HUD/UI mods.
All sound mods.
Disallowed:
Any mod/script/macro that makes your character perform automated tasks, such as (but not limited to): digging, moving, talking, jumping, auto-aim, auto-crit, chest-sorting (chest sorting is very risky, as it can delete items from your inventory) and the other mods above can get you automatically banned by our system. Some of these actions are impossible to replicate as a human, which means if you are targeted by our system in this case; the ban will be permanent, without warning, and without the possibility to appeal the ban.
Xray mods/scripts/resource/texture packs. We have anti-xray to prevent it regardless, but the rule is still here. Attempts will still lead to a ban.
Exploiting:
Using exploits such as unintended server bugs or duplication methods is not allowed. If you find a game-breaking issue, report it to a staff member right away.
We have a lot of advanced anti-exploit measures, but the rule is still here. Attempts of creating duplication machines or other similar exploits still lead to a ban.
Your mods, your responsibility:
When using mods, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are safe; that they do not contain malware; they do not run unintentional scripts, or run malicious actions. By using mods on LifeOnMC, you agree to the consequences that comes with using disallowed, unsafe, or unverified mods.
Player Report Policy
Each case will be handled appropriately with the assumption of innocent at the start unless the case is extreme.
Step 1. A player is reported using the #create-ticket system on our Discord.
Step 2. The staff team will add the reported player to the ticket, and any other people that may want to report the same player.
Step 3. The reported player will be given a chance to tell their side of their story, and potentionally fix the damage they did if it was in-game activity related.
Step 4. If the reported player will be assumed guilty if there is no response within 24 hours.
Step 5. Appropriate punishment will be handed depending on the situation and the response from the reported player.
Note: If the reported player is not in the Discord, an attempt of asking them in-game should be made, and if no reply from them still, will be assumed guilty.
Want to help us?
If you have found some troublemakers breaking any of these rules, open a ticket on our Discord server (lifeonmc.com/discord) and provide the necessary details. Reports are anonymous and you may be rewarded or compensated, depending on the situation.
